The Genesis of Next Gen HER Community Business Initiative
The Next Gen HER Community Business Initiative was born out of the resounding feedback from the 2024 Community Impact Awards Dorset. Recognising the vital role young women play in shaping the future of our communities, many attendees expressed a strong desire to see more opportunities for younger generations to engage in the annual International Women’s Day Symposium and Awards Gala in Dorset. So the creation of an entrepreneurship and social impact initiative for younger women to start making an impact in the community.
Inspired by this feedback, we developed the Next Gen HER Community Business Initiative as a platform to empower young women in Dorset to become community entrepreneurs and make a positive difference. By providing mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities, we aim to equip these young women with the skills and confidence they need to turn their ideas into reality.
The initiative seeks to foster a new generation of female leaders who are passionate about addressing community needs and creating sustainable social change. It is our hope that Next Gen HER will inspire and empower young women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and become catalysts for positive transformation in Dorset.

Next Gen HER Community Business Initiative: Empowering Young Women in Community Entrepreneurship
Next Gen HER Community Business Initiative is a program designed to support and inspire younger women to start and grow their own community impact businesses. This initiative aims to create a thriving community of female entrepreneurs and provide them with the resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities they need to succeed.

- Empower young women entrepreneurs: By providing them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to pursue their business dreams.
- Foster a supportive community: Creating a network of like-minded women who can share experiences, offer advice, and collaborate.
- Promote economic growth: Supporting women-owned businesses can contribute to the overall economic development of the community.

- Community Business training and workshops: Offering practical guidance on topics such as business planning, marketing, finance, fundraising, and legal considerations.
- Mentorship programs: Connecting young women in community entrepreneurs with experienced mentors who can provide advice and support.
